It was good to experience Cisco Partner Summit virtually this year, not quite San Francisco but an inspirational event for all Partners. Cisco is reinventing its network ‘The Network Intuitive’ whilst making Security part of everything too.
The Summit theme Own IT is spot on, we have the opportunity and together we can tap into the $2.1 trillion digital business.
Wendy Bahr’s presentation on unlocking this opportunity was particularly interesting. The past has seen us selling products and solutions based on what companies and our partners tell us they need. However Cisco has changed perspective and the focus is now on customer challenges and the business outcomes. Cisco are now developing solutions that they know will work and enhancing the partner program to focus on this opportunity.
If we look at the changes highlighted by Cisco on the partner program we at Ingram Micro can help these partners with their selling techniques to become consultancy experts. Helping our partners better understand their customers businesses will lead to a sales lifecycle and recurring revenue that will ultimately make us all more successful. Ingram Micro have always been focused on helping our own partners which has led to our success. This is the same for customers, partners need to focus on customers’ business outcomes which is a change in the way they sell and that is something we can help them with.
It was excellent to see Ingram Micro win the Cisco Global Disti of the Year award and Ingram Micro France and Middle East win the regional Disti award, well done all! #TeamAwesome
Looking forward to FY18 and Owning IT!
